As the story's primary theme seems to be "Faith" (where "Infidelity" was the theme of Murder House (story)), it seems possible that a Bloody Face personality cult inspires the killings among multiple participants. Many characters, themes and events this season are reflections of the last so such a cult could be counterpoint to the reenactors of the R. Franklin murders.
