Background
Edit
Constance has for years been in contact with a psychic medium to get Tate Langdon to move on to the next world. The medium is a woman named Billie Dean Howard; Constance found her on Craigslist. Billie Dean mentions she is in the process of shooting a reality show for Lifetime.
Episodic Appearances
Edit
In the episode "Piggy Piggy" Constance contacts Addy through her. She also introduces her to Violet.

Added by Hunter PerryIn the episode "Spooky Little Girl", Billie Dean said to Constance that a child conceived by a human woman and ghostly father would be the Anti-Christ who will bring about the end of times.

Added by Hunter PerryIn the episode Birth, Constance and Violet seek her help to get rid of Chad and Patrick. She says that she knows of one very succesful exorcism, in the year 1590: The Roanoke Colony. Billie Dean says that all settlers died and subsequently haunted the local Native Americans. One of the elders used property that the English settlers left behind and burned it. He then said "Croatoan" as a spell to vanish them.
Billie Dean recognizes that Violet is dead and speaks to her through telepathy. She tells Violet that she is sorry that she died so young. Violet pleads with her not to tell Constance.
Added by ZaffirahBillie Dean talks about the great evils and the energy that feeds the house, lamenting all the regret and pain many of the spirits feel. Tate then appears behind her back.
She is visibly shaken and states that "He cannot be here". When Violet asks what Billie Dean's reaction was all about, Constance replies that it was because it is emotionally difficult for a medium to encounter a dead person. Since Violet herself is dead and Billie Dean has no problem with her, Violet suspects this is untrue. She later learns the truth about Tate's background.
Quotes
Edit
(to Constance:) "The dead can hold a grudge better than most Scorpios."
Notes
Edit
- The character "Billie Dean Howard" is based on Allison DuBois. [citation needed]
- Ryan Murphy stated in the weeks before Michael Langdon's birth that Billie Dean's theory about him being the Anti-Christ is not necessarily true, though this may have been to provide an element of surprise for fans before the season finale.
Theorized references
Edit
Note: These are mere theories that have not been confirmed in any way.
- It is possible (though not confirmed in any way) that the character's name is a reference to "Billie Jean", to James Dean and to Billie Holliday.
- Michael Jackson's song "Billie Jean" was partially based on an experience Michael Jackson had with a mentally deranged fan of his who claimed that he was the father of one (and only one) of her twins. She claimed that she had conceived the twins by heteroparental fecundation, just like Vivien. Jackson, who regularly received letters of this kind, had never met the woman in question and ignored it. The woman, however, continued to send Jackson more letters, which stated that she loved him and wanted to be with him. She pondered how Jackson could ignore his own flesh and blood. The letters disturbed the singer to the extent that he suffered nightmares. Following the letters, Jackson received a parcel containing a photograph of the fan, as well as a letter and a gun. He was horrified—the letter asked that the pop singer kill himself on a certain day and at a specific time. The fan would do the same once she had killed their baby. She wrote that if they could not be together in this life, then they would be in the next. To his mother's dismay, Jackson had the photograph of the woman framed and hung above the dining room table of their family home. Afterward, the Jacksons discovered that the female fan had been sent to a psychiatric hospital. [1]
